Where Horses Heal Hearts

A Salute to The Overwatch

The name Overwatch comes from the military term used to describe a position of support, awareness, and protection — one unit watching over another. That same principle is at the heart of our program.

Through horsemanship, mentorship, and community, Overwatch provides veterans, active military, and first responders with a safe and structured environment where they can rebuild trust, confidence, purpose, and connection. Much like military overwatch provides guidance and cover in difficult situations, our goal is to help participants navigate the hidden wounds of service while learning practical horsemanship skills that carry over into everyday life.

At Overwatch, the horse becomes the teacher, the mirror, and often the bridge that helps people reconnect with themselves and those around them.

There's something about the outside of a horse that's good for the inside of a man. - Winston Churchhill

Our Mission

Our mission at Overwatch is to use horsemanship and the honesty of the horse to help heal the hidden wounds of service.

We believe the healing power of horses should be accessible to more people in more places. That’s why Overwatch works to build partnerships with other nonprofits, horsemen, and organizations around the country who share a similar mission.

Our long-term goal is to establish a permanent home base and mentorship facility where participants can come for advanced training, leadership development, and hands-on experience learning how to carry this work forward.
